Together, we work on the different skills involved in learning Persian: comprehension, speaking, and reading and writing if you wish. Everything depends on your goals. Some learners prefer to focus on speaking and remain with phonetic transcription, while others also want to learn the Persian alphabet and writing system. Both approaches are possible.

The goal is not to separate each skill, but to let them support one another while respecting your priorities and your pace. You progress gradually, so that you can feel comfortable using Persian in real-life situations.

I have learned several languages myself through self-study. I know the challenges learners face, but also the methods that truly help you improve.

For more than 4 years, I have taught over 3,000 hours of lessons and supported more than one hundred learners from a wide range of backgrounds.

This experience has helped me identify what works, refine my teaching approach, and create a learning experience that is structured, effective, and adapted to each person.

P.S. You don’t need to be “naturally gifted at languages”. You simply need a method that suits you and guidance that matches your needs.

My Experience

I started teaching Persian in 2022, first with just a handful of students, then gradually on a larger scale, both online and in person. Since then, I have worked with more than one hundred learners from a wide range of backgrounds and taught over 3,000 hours of lessons. Every student has helped me refine my teaching, better understand the specific challenges of learning Persian, and develop a clear, structured approach that adapts to different goals, learning styles, and paces. Today, Farsi Khuneh is the result of that experience: a place built on practice, curiosity, and the joy of sharing knowledge.

Do I need to have some knowledge of Persian already?

No. The lessons are open to all levels, including complete beginners.
Whether you are starting from zero or already have some basic knowledge, I adapt the lessons to your level and your goals

Are the lessons online?

Yes. All lessons take place online via Microsoft Teams.
Before your first lesson, I will simply send you a connection link. You just need to click on it at the scheduled time to start the session.

Do I need to learn how to read and write Persian?

No. If your main goal is to speak and understand Persian, you can absolutely start by using phonetics only.

If you would like to learn the alphabet, we do it progressively, a few letters at a time, starting with the most frequently used ones.

In the long run, knowing how to read and write Persian is a real advantage. It allows you to become more independent and progress more easily. I explain more about this in my article “Learning the Persian Alphabet: Is It Really Necessary?”. We will choose the approach that best matches your goals.

How does a lesson work?

Each lesson is adapted to your level, your goals, and your learning pace. We progress step by step through conversations, clear explanations, and various learning materials, in order to develop both your understanding and your speaking skills. A strong focus is also placed on listening: we regularly work with Persian dialogues to train your ear to the sounds, rhythm, and expressions that are actually used in everyday Persian.

Throughout your learning journey, we also use a shared Google Docs document, which serves as your personalized progress notebook. You will find the vocabulary, explanations, examples, exercises, and key points covered during the lessons.
Everything is kept in one place, making it easy to review what you have learned between sessions and follow your progress over time.

Do I need to do exercises between lessons?

It is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended if you want to progress faster.

Lessons give you explanations, tools, and good learning habits. Personal practice helps you consolidate what you have learned, memorize vocabulary, and become more comfortable using the language.

If you have time between lessons, I can provide exercises adapted to your level. If your schedule is busy, we can also focus more on practice during the lessons.

How often should I take lessons?

It depends on your goals, your availability, and your budget.

From my experience, students who progress the fastest are usually those who take several lessons per week at the beginning of their learning journey, or those who spend time practicing outside of lessons. Starting with a more intensive rhythm helps build strong foundations. Once these foundations are in place, it becomes easier to reduce the frequency while continuing to improve.
