The story behind Farsi Khuneh

Nice to meet you! I’m Ali.

I grew up in southeastern Iran, between deserts and mountains, and I’ve been living in France since 2018. Today, I help English speakers learn Persian through a clear, structured, and engaging approach.

Although I pursued a scientific rather than a literary education, I have always been fascinated by Persian literature. As a child, my favorite moments at school were when we had to write stories, essays, or dictations. Even then, I was drawn to the beauty and rhythm of words. That fascination has never left me.

For a long time, however, I struggled to learn foreign languages at school. It’s true that the education system—and sometimes certain teachers—can be discouraging. But I also believe the motivation simply wasn’t there yet. For me, the turning point came later.

A Late Awakening to Languages

When I realized how essential languages were for discovering the world beyond my own, I began teaching myself. That was the turning point. The spark had finally been lit, and from then on, I never stopped learning: English, French, Spanish

This self-directed journey helped me understand what truly works when learning a language. I experimented, searched, adapted, and refined my approach. I experienced the frustrations, the doubts, and the common mistakes firsthand—because I had gone through them myself.

The Joy of Teaching

At the same time, I began teaching while I was still at university, initially in scientific subjects. That’s when I discovered something essential: I genuinely love teaching. Explaining, simplifying, making complex ideas easier to understand… For me, teaching isn’t just a profession; it’s something I truly enjoy.

What fascinates me most is the way languages are connected. Words travel, evolve, and change over time. I’ve always been fascinated by etymology. Every word has a story, and understanding that story makes it easier to remember and gives it deeper meaning.

Today, Farsi Khuneh brings together everything that inspires me: my passion for the Persian language, my experience as a self-taught language learner, and my love of teaching.

My goal is simple: to help you learn Persian through a clear, structured, and engaging approach.

My Experience

I started teaching Persian in 2022, first with just a handful of students, then gradually on a larger scale, both online and in person. Since then, I have worked with more than one hundred learners from a wide range of backgrounds and taught over 3,000 hours of lessons. Every student has helped me refine my teaching, better understand the specific challenges of learning Persian, and develop a clear, structured approach that adapts to different goals, learning styles, and paces. Today, Farsi Khuneh is the result of that experience: a place built on practice, curiosity, and the joy of sharing knowledge.
